Hay horizontes a los que quizás nunca llegará. No se trata de ser excelentes. Se trata de ir perfeccionándose cada vez más sabiendo que, al detenerse y preguntarse quién es y qué hizo, la respuesta será “lo mejor que pude”.

There are some horizons that you will perhaps never arrive at. We don't have to be excellent. We try to better ourselves even more, knowing that when we stop and ask ourselves what we have done, the answer will be, “The best I could.”

¡Mejorar su persona! Parece muy difícil, pero no lo es. Si lo tomamos como una aventura, es motivadora. Es extraordinariamente apasionante. Se trata de reconocer e investigar los sentimientos y pensamientos que generalmente actúan en los comportamientos, agregarles ideas y posibilidades de cambio.

Improve yourself! It looks very difficult, but it is not. If we take it as an adventure, it is a motivator. It is extraordinarily thrilling. It is about recognizing and finding our feelings and thoughts–acting on those ideas and possibilities of changes.

Si reconoce el stress como su enemigo invisible, podrá no convivir con él y luchar para vencerlo. Si no lo hace, si no se toma el tiempo y el esfuerzo para hacerlo, el precio puede ser muy caro.

If you recognize stress like your invisible enemy, you won’t be able to live with it and fight it to conquer it. If you don't do it, if you don't take the time and the effort to do it, the price could be very high.

Mientras tanto, caminando por el barrio sentían que nada había cambiado. Eran de nuevo dos muchachos llenos de sueños, ¡Como antes! ¡Igual que antes! La tarde era de otoño en Buenos Aires, los árboles tenían más hojas que nunca,más verde que nunca y estaban más altos Fue fácil dejar los 30 años de más que llevaban encima y acordarse de la plenitud, de la atracción y la locura de las historias de entonces. Fue fácil creer en el amor inocente, de nuevo. Mario y vos habían recuperado los sueños que jamás creían que iban a recuperar.   Era cuestión de hacer memoria.

Meanwhile, they were walking in the neighborhood feeling that nothing had been changed. They were two boys full of dreams again. Like before! Exactly like before! The afternoon in autumn was in Buenos Aires and the trees had more leaves than ever, and they were taller. It was easy to leave the 30 years or more that the boys were carrying on them and remember the pleasure and the madness of the stories of yore. It was easy to believe in innocent love made new. Mario and you had re-lived the dreams that they never thought were going to recuperate from. It was a matter of remembering.

Ya que me seguís prometiendo escribir el libro de mi vida y no lo hacés, hoy he decidido yo escribirte un libro tuyo. Sí escribiré sobre tus cuentos.  Todos los cuentos que me has contado… y seré parte de ellos. La fantasía nos pondrá al lado de héroes, buenos amigos y hadas madrinas con todos los que seguirás inventando para mi e inventando para vos.  Dale! Seguime trayendo tus historias, no me curan pero cuánto que nos reconfortan…mi querido Alejandro.

Because you always has being promising me to write the book of my life, today I have decided to write your book. Yes, I will write about your stories, All the stories that you have been telling me and I will be part of them. The fantasies will put us besides heroes, good friends and fairy godmothers with whom we will continue inventing them for mi and inventing them for you. Bring them on! Keep bringing me the your stories, the don’t cure me but how much they comfort me, my dear friend Alejandro.

También, se puede tener más para compartir más, ser mejor y saber más para vivir más inteligentemente y ser más feliz. Se puede siempre gozar con lo mucho o con lo poco que hayas logrado.

Also, we can have more to share more, to be better and to know more to live smarter and to be happier. We can always enjoy the most or the least that we have gotten.

Siempre es lindo, Alejandro, ver a Buenos Aires desde el avión cuando está llegando, cuando está bajando y tratar de descubrir que parte de la ciudad estás mirando. Como si pudieses descifrar el gran mapa que tienes ante tus ojos. Pero de lo que te olvidabas y no querías acordarte es que te fuiste hace muchos años y no te era tan fácil reconocer donde estaban las casas de tu queridos amigos en esa enorme ciudad.

Always it is nice, Alex, to see Buenos Aires from the plane when it is arriving, when is landing and to try to discover which part of the city you are looking at. It is like if you could decipher the big map that you have in front of your eyes. But what you did forget and you didn't want to admit is that you left many years ago and it was not so easy to recognize where your lovely friend's houses were in that enormous city.

Nos hemos estado juntando en estos almuerzos Multiculturales cada mes, trayendo gente de diferentes comunidades para conocerse y juntar ideas de otras educaciones y culturas.

Pero hoy es un día especial. Es un almuerzo para conocernos especial. Nuestros disertantes de hoy han vivido una larga vida. Ellos han tenidos sus logros y sus caídas, sus fracasos y sus éxitos. Como muchos de nosotros hemos tenido. Sabemos que ellos tienen muchas palabras de sabiduría para todos nosotros.

Le vida es tan poderosa cuando enseñamos y cuando aprendemos. Ahora es un buen momento para todos nosotros de aprender. Para los disertantes compartir sus “Palabras de sabiduría” y para nosotros estar atentos a sus enseñanzas que vienen de sus propias experiencias, dándonos una guía, un consejo para vivir la vida. Escuchenlos muy atentamente. Ellos nos pueden decir algo que necesitamos escuchar.

Nosotros podemos hacer de esta reunión, una para siempre siempre. Hoy podemos celebrar la vida, una vez más, descubrir que con todos sus luchas y conflictos, errores confusiones y claridades, tristezas y momentos felices, podemos aún aprovechar al máximo la vida.

We have been gathering at the Multicultural lunch every month, bringing people from different communities to Network and gathering ideas from other's background and cultures.

But today is a special day. It is a special lunch meeting. Our guests today are people that lived a long time. They have had ups and they have their downs, their failures, and their successes. Like many of us. We know, they have a lot of words of wisdom for us.

Life is so powerful when we teach and when we learn. So now it´s a good time for all of us to learn. For the speakers to share some of their "Words of Wisdom" and for us to be at the forefront of learning through their experience, give us guidance, advice, and tips to live life. Let´s listen to them very carefully. They may say something that we need to hear.

We can make today's meeting, one to remember! Today we can celebrate life and, once again, discover that with struggling, mistakes, confusion and clearness, sadness and happiness, we can still make the most of life.
